چکیده

• Experimental investigation of full-scale SRG jacketed columns under seismic loading. Alternative jackets were used differing in textile density and number layers. jacketing modified poor response from brittle bar buckling to flexural. Sufficient displacement ductility & low strength degradation observed up 5% drift. The effectiveness steel-reinforced grout (SRG) improving the structural performance deficient reinforced concrete (RC) is experimentally investigated this study. Four cantilever designed following old construction practice (pre-1970s) southern Europe. Due lack adequate detailing, susceptible failure when subjected combined axial loading cyclic lateral reversals, simulating Three alternative configurations applied layers Ultra High Tensile Strength Steel (UHTSS) textile. test results demonstrated efficiency modify with detailing ductile by substantially their overall performance. Finally, code formulations assess columns.

Evaluation and Comparison of Behavior of Steel Jacketed RC Columns with Circular and Square Sections under Blast Loading Reinforced concrete (RC) structures are widely used in urban buildings and infrastructures, and these are always subjected to explosions caused by intentional or unintentional accidents. Among the structural members, columns are key load carrier elements. In this paper, b...

Seismic Performance of Square RC Bridge Columns under Combined Loading including Torsion with Low Shear

During earthquake excitations, reinforced concrete bridge columns can be subjected to a combination of axial load, shear force, flexural moments, and torsional moments. The torsional moment can be much more significant in columns of bridges that are skewed, curved, have unequal spans, or unequal column heights. Combined loading including torsion can result in complex flexural and shear failure ...

Seismic Behavior of Substandard RC Columns Retrofitted with Embedded Aramid Fiber Reinforced Polymer (AFRP) Reinforcement

Many existing reinforced concrete structures were constructed with substandard characteristics. Low quality concrete, poor transverse reinforcement details and insufficient flexural strength are among the most common deficiencies. While substandard structures are in need of retrofitting, particularly in seismic areas, problems such as high costs and disturbance to occupants are major obstacles ...

Analytical Load Displacement Curves of RC Columns under Constant Axial and Cyclic Lateral Loads

The cyclic tests of the columns are of practical relevance to the performance of compression members during earthquake loading. The strength, ductility and energy absorption capabilities of RC columns, subjected to cyclic loading, have been estimated by many researchers. These characteristics are not normally inherent in plain concrete but can be achieved by effectively confining columns throug...

Numerical and Experimental Study on Ratcheting Behavior of Steel Cylindrical Shells with/without Cutout Under Cyclic Combined and Axial Loading

Ratcheting behavior of steel 304L cylindrical shell under cyclic combined and axial loading are investigated in this paper, numerically. Cylindrical shells were fixed oblique at angle of 20° and normal with respect to the longitudinal direction of the shell and subjected to force-controlled cycling with non-zero mean force, which causes the accumulation of plastic deformation or ratcheting beha...
